Consignment done right
Whose money is a consignment car's sale?
When a consignment car sells, the money belongs to its owner, not to your profit. AutoSync records it as owed by the showroom until it is paid, and works out your earnings from the car according to your agreement: a fixed fee, a percentage of the sale price, or everything above an agreed floor.
Example: a consignment car whose owner wants EGP 400,000
- Sale priceEGP 450,000
- Owner's dueEGP −400,000
The EGP 400,000 is recorded as owed by the showroom from the moment of sale, so it never shows up in your real balance as your money.
How is consignment recorded?
- 1
The car and its owner
You record the car as consignment, with its owner's name, mobile number and your agreement.
- 2
The type of agreement
A fixed fee for the showroom, a percentage of the sale price, or the showroom keeps everything above a floor agreed with the owner.
- 3
Sale and payout
When the car sells, the owner's due is recorded as owed by you, and paying it waits for your approval like any other outflow.
- 4
The statement
You send the owner their statement on WhatsApp from the app.
What changes in your day?
Without AutoSync
- Consignment money mixes into the cash box and gets spent as profit.
- The owner calls to ask, and you search the notebook.
- Every agreement is calculated a different way.
With AutoSync
- The owner's due is recorded as owed until it is paid.
- A ready statement you can send on WhatsApp.
- The agreement is recorded once and the numbers follow.
About this feature
Questions about consignment
Which consignment agreements does the app support?
Three: a fixed fee for the showroom, a percentage of the sale price, or the showroom keeps everything above a floor agreed with the car's owner.
What if the consignment car doesn't sell?
You return it to its owner from the app, and the car is closed without affecting your accounts.
Can the car's owner see their account?
You send them their statement on WhatsApp from the app. They don't log in to the app themselves.
Does consignment money affect the real balance?
Yes. The owner's due is taken out of the real balance from the moment of sale until it is paid, so you never spend it as profit.
